Maurice Appelbaum is a Modern Orthodox rabbi, ordained by Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School. He is an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education Associate Supervisor and Board Certified Chaplain by Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains. He currently teaches Clinical Pastoral Education at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and serves as the Coordinator of Chaplaincy and Education at Healthcare Chaplaincy Network. He is the rabbi of a Congregation Ahavas Israel, a synagogue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn where he lives with his wife, Rebeccah and their three kids.

Yael Shmilovitz is a Reform rabbi and is certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education as a CPE Supervisor. She received her rabbinic ordination and earned her master's degree in Education and Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in NYC. She has worked as Palliative Care chaplain and Clinical Pastoral Educator at Bellevue Hospital and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. She has a variety of teaching, writing and research experience with private, educational and academic institutions, among which is The Skirball Center for Adult Jewish Learning at Temple Emanu-el in NYC.
