Is the full conference located at the Sheraton Grand Chicago?
Yes, the entire conference agenda will take place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago. Please note that the conference registration does not include accommodations.

How much does the hotel cost?
HealthCare Chaplaincy NetworkTM has arranged a special rate for our conference attendees. To see the cost and other relevant details please visit our venue page here. Early Bird Hotel Rate is $199 through February 18, 2017

Must I stay at the hotel to attend the conference?
No, we are suggesting these hotel accommodations for your convenience. You are free to make independent arrangements for your lodging separate from the conference registration.

Can HCCN offer a roommate referral service if we stay at the hotel?
We do not offer this service. If you would like to communicate with conference attendees, you may do so through social media.

What airport should I use?
There are two airports available near the hotel. Midway Airport (MDW) apx 12miles from the hotel and O’Hare International Airport (ORD) apx 18miles from the hotel. For more information click here.


Meals and Dietary Restrictions

Does the conference registration include meals?
The full conference registration includes breakfast and lunch for all three days.

  • Do you offer kosher meals? Yes, kosher meals are offered at $50.00 per meal and may be purchased during the registration process. The hotel can provide breakfast and lunch for this meal option.
  • Do you offer halal meals? Yes, halal meals are offered at $50.00 per meal and may be purchased during the registration process. The hotel can provide breakfast and lunch for this meal option.
  • Do you offer vegetation meals? Yes, vegetarian meals are provided at no additional cost but must be indicated during the registration process. The hotel can provide breakfast and lunch for this meal option.

CEU and Certificate of Attendance

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
Yes, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance/CEU certificate, certificates will be emailed after the conference. You will receive the certificates no later than 3 weeks after the conclusion of the event.

How many continuing education units (CEU) does the conference provide?
The conference qualifies for 16.0 CEUs.

How many CME credits are available for the conference?
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint sponsorship of the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UASOM) and the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network. The UASOM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Alabama School of Medicine designates this conference for a maximum of 16.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (s)™. Physicians should claim only the credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The University of Alabama School of Medicine is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution.

How many contact hours are available for Social Workers?
This program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886745162-4726) for 15 continuing education contact hours.

How many CNE, CE contact hours are available for the conference?
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Maryland Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.

Can you tell me if the CEU's are free of charge with registration of a site?
There are no extra charges to apply for conference CEU's.

Will virtual participants qualify for CEU's for the single $800 fee?
All registered conference participants are eligible to individually apply for CEU's for no extra fee.

Will my accrediting agency accept the conference CEUs?
Acceptance of CEUs is up to your individual accrediting agency. Many state boards accept offerings approved by national or other state organizations. Please check with your own professional licensing board to determine whether our offering will be accepted.


Scholarships and Discounts

Are there scholarships or discounts offered for special sectors (i.e., CPE students, nurses)?
At this time, there are no scholarships. Discounts are available to chaplains and groups as listed on the main page. CPE students may use the Chaplain rate for discount purposes.

Is there a group discount rate?
Group discounts are available please see our fee schedule here for more details. Groups are defined as two or more from one institution when purchased at the same time.



What requirements are needed on our end to participate in the conference virtually via Webcast?
Technical specifications to ensure that webcast participant’s audio, video and computers are compatible with our vendor will be sent before the conference begins.

Will documents, slides, and PowerPoint presentations be available to virtual attendees?
Virtual attendees will have access to a live stream of all three days of the plenary and keynote addresses and registered workshops in their entirety, as well as access to handouts.

Will virtual attendees be able to engage with presenters?
Yes, we will have a “text your question” phone number that could be used to engage with presenters.

Can multiple sites access the webcast using the same access code?
No. There is one webcast license per site However, the webcast license does permit an unlimited number people to view the conference per site.


Content & Video Recording

Will I have access to see the video recording?
Yes, every participant will receive a code to view ALL video presentations regardless of which you may have registered for.

Do you provide copies of the slides?
Copies are provided via the conference app during the conference and via a secure link after the conference for your convenience.



Is there Walk-in in or day-of registration?
Walk-In or Day-of registration will be available however no discounted rates will be available.

What if I only want to attend for one day?
We have single day tickets available. Single day tickets include all activities for the day selected including breakfast and lunch.

Can I get a refund?
We will refund registration fees minus $75 cancellation fee until February 1, 2017. There will be no refunds after that date.

I will be arriving on Sunday, can I start my registration then?
Yes, we will have a pre-registration booth open from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday at our venue.


Optional Activities

Are there other activities besides the workshops?
Yes, there will be a President’s Reception on opening day, scientific poster session, exhibitor’s hall, optional prayers services and a chapel available for private meditation and prayer.

Call for Posters

What information must I provide to be considered for the poster session?
Title, Problem, Action Taken, Outcomes/Data, Institution, Contact email and telephone information.

I presented my poster at another conference, could I still be considered for this conference?
Yes, you will still be considered.

What is the deadline for poster submission?
Abstract submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until February 18, 2017

Do I have to be at the conference to present my poster?
If you choose to display a poster at the Annual Conference, you must be registered and are responsible for your own travel and hotel accommodations.

Will I have an opportunity to speak to conference attendees about my poster?
Yes, we have 2 formal poster sessions scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

What is the deadline for poster submission?
Abstract submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until February 18, 2017.


Renewal Ceremony

I already registered for the conference do I need register for the renewal ceremony as well?
No, the renewal ceremony is already included in your ticket.
