Meet Your Instructor
Jim holds a B.A. in Missiology and a Masters of Theology. He is the supervising Chaplain at both Henry Ford Macomb and West Bloomfield Hospitals in metro Detroit. He is a Certified Advance Care Planner and Certified Advance Care Facilitator Trainer in both First and Last Steps Planning. He currently leads the Advance Care Planning Initiative for the Henry Ford Health System.

Title: Pulling Back the Curtain on Chaplaincy Certification
Workshop Summary:
The workshop will cover the general chaplaincy certification requirements and processes that all associations generally follow while focusing on the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and the Spiritual Care Association (SCA).
Learning Objective 1: Participants will know the basic requirements and processes for board certification for chaplaincy in North America irrespective of certifying association
Learning Objective 2: Participants will be able to compare and contrast the certification requirements and processes of the Association of Professional Chaplains and the Spiritual Care Association in relationship to their own needs and qualifications.
Learning Objective 3: Participants will be able to apply tested strategies for being successfully certified as a healthcare chaplain
