Bryan Health has a wonderful opportunity to join our Pastoral Care team as a full-time Chaplain supporting our critical care and medical/surgical units. Our Chaplains are a vital member of our multidisciplinary patient care team serving patients from throughout the region.


Daily responsibilities include:

  • Making rounds and assessing the spiritual needs of patients and families who may be experiencing spiritual distress or crisis.
  • Providing counseling in matters associated with spirituality including prayer, meaning of purpose in life, forgiveness, and healing.
  • Acts as a liaison between hospital staff and family during periods of crisis, such as death, critical illness or surgery.
  • Maintains documentation of pastoral care functions in the electronic medical record as well as serving as a notary for completing Advanced Healthcare Directives.


Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Master’s degree in Theology or Spiritual Counseling from an accredited program.
  • Completion of at least 4 (four) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • Certification, or active progress towards, with a pastoral care cognate group recognized by the Coalition on Ministry in Specialized Settings (COMISS).
